The copper in the price is actually the time. In castles and towns with an active Unit Commander - not the training commander - you can get troops for a small amount of money which are ready in "X copper" days. Just bring the money.Īfterwards you can only recruit from villages again if you join your faction. ![]() ![]() If you equip all 3 classes the same, you can have 150 swedish mercenaries that rival anything. ![]() Mercenaries are always available and if you made tons of money in trade - or later on through fiefs - they are as good as elite troops in half plate, thoroughbreeds, broadswords and muskets for horses. If used with the right tactics, they can still beat an enemy army. ![]() After that are the tavern mercenaries which are "Light Dragoons" if you take the Cavalry and bad musketeers if you take those. As a free person you get a "small" support of the villages to start up with milita units.
